A family run business, Blue Hills Farm Retreat was established as a guest property and Riding school back in the early 1970's. It has continued to provide accommodation and activities for guests for many years and today has six fully self-contained units, a bunkhouse and the unique "Hay Shed Room".

If you want to take a scenic day trip, then Jenolan Caves, Mt Wilson, Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens and the Zig Zag Railway are within a comfortable hour's drive away. There are many scenic drives that can be taken around the escarpments as well with not to be missed Valley of Waters, Weeping Rock, Lilian's Bridge and Water Nymph's Dell with it's Fire Flies and Glow Worms..

You have at your back door - The Blue Mountains National Park - inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites in December 2000. The park consists of 1.03 million hectares of mostly forested landscape on a deeply-incised sandstone plateau. With spectacular scenery, plantlife and wildlife, the mountains reach a height of 1100m, and have been given their name due to the blue haze that hovered above the mountains produced by the oil from the plentiful Eucalyptus trees.

Getting There:

Hartley Vale is about 10 minutes from Lithgow and Mt Victoria in the Blue Mountains. From Sydney by rail, the journey is 2 hours, 20 minutes to Mt Victoria then 6km by road to Hartley Vale and 2 hours by car from Western Sydney.
